One of Cali’s most photographed spots
Feast your eyes upon one of California’s most iconic sights, the Bixby Creek Bridge. Located in Big Sur along the famous Highway 1 route, the Bixby Creek Bridge was completed in 1932 and has been one of Central California’s most recognisable features ever since. This is the highest single-span concrete arch bridge in the world and stands at a mammoth 260ft above the steep canyon carved by the Bixby Creek below.
Stop at numerous turnouts and admire the outstanding views of California’s rugged coast. See the ocean waves crashing on the rocky shoreline and be sure to capture the scenes from the bridge’s south end at sunset. The landscape here is simply spectacular and the bridge itself is so impressive that you would’ve seen it on various TV commercials, movies and more.
