Journey to new heights on the world's largest rotating tramcars
Ride the world’s largest rotating tramcars on the fantastic Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Located in the rugged Chino Canyon on the north edge of Palm Springs, the 12 minute ascent takes you 2.5 miles up the mountain. Your journey starts at 2643 feet at the Valley Station in the Sonoran Desert and ends at Mountain Station (8516 feet) in the beautiful alpine wilderness of Mount San Jacinto State Park. Each tramcar holds up to 80 passengers and features a floor which rotates twice throughout the journey.
You’ll find two restaurants atop the mountain. Experience fine dining with superb views of the Coachella Valley at Peaks, and head to the Pines Café for more casual fare. During the summer explore 54 miles of hiking trails in the State Park, get back to basics with a camping trip or enjoy a guided nature walk. In the winter thousands head up the mountains for skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing. You can bring your own equipment or rent some at the Winter Adventure Center.
